On November 6, 2006, I flew to Washington DC in the United States where I successfully recorded the vocals for the first 11 songs of my upcoming debut album at CUE Recording Studios in Falls Church, Virginia.

I was so moved and amazed, somewhat anxious at the thought of recording my own songs in a place where Cindy Lauper recorded her huge worldwide hit “Time after time” that I never stopped listening. I could admire the resulting gold record on the wall in a hallway of the main entrance of the venue over and over again. As if that wasn’t enough, I saw a platinum record of Mary J. Blidge on the same wall with a portrait of her face on it. I realized that she had also brought glory to CUE Recording.

During 10 hours of time divided into two sessions on two different days, I was able, among other things, to complete all my vocal takes on the tracks previously recorded by me at home in Munich.
It was the first time in my entire life that I set foot in a recording studio. Having always worked – not in the background for my own interest but – “off-piste” due to my occupations as a full-time student at the faculty of electrical engineering and part-time employee in a large global electronics company.

I am delighted to have completed my studies, making my greatest passion my greatest investigation.
